Online Safety Education Apple Book: For Parents

Following on from publishing the Online Safety Education books for educators (see previous blog post Online Safety Education for Primary and Secondary Teachers), I have worked with other educators in the Catholic School Office to produce a book to help parents.

We know that children and young people are spending an increasing amount of time online for learning, entertainment and social connections. We have written this Apple Book to support parents in ensuring their children’s safety and wellbeing when online. It includes the top 8 points that we consider are essential for parents to be aware of, and links to things like Family Pledges and agreements. I hope some of you find it useful

Thanks for sharing this resource, JJ! It's a great way to extend the conversation around online safety and student privacy from school to home. How have families who have used this resource responded to it?

Great question. A lot of families have used it as a starting point for discussion at home. I would really love to collect more information on this, although it's hard not to "over survey" our parent community at the moment!
